Quotes I Like
“It’s nice to know someone thinks of you as a person, not an opportunity.”
“You’d think I’d be used to this agony by now , but it always catches me off guard. Anyone who says grief fades over time is a fucking liar. It never goes away. It just gets better at hiding. You never know when it’s going to spring out of the shadows and sucker punch you in the gut.
Grief is a real asshole.”
“When someone dies, it doesn't just take them. It takes a piece of everyone who ever loved them and everyone they ever loved.”
“Choices, by nature, are not right or wrong. They are only different paths, all ultimately leading to the same end.”
“Eldon, we all mess up. No one should measure their worth by how often they screw up. What matters most is how a person deals with the aftermath. How they grow and change.”
“That’s the problem, of course. At least, part of the problem. In Madison, regrets are as commonplace as wishes. And there’s no such thing as do-overs.”

Review
I really enjoyed this and I didn't think I was going to, I guess that's what I get for looking at the reviews first. This was a really quick easy read, but I really liked it. I though the pacing was excellent, it moved just fast enough to keep me reading but slow enough not to feel unbelievable. I think the pacing is honestly what makes this book so great. Chelsea Sedoti is a god at character development, I hate reading books where the main character is un recognizable at the end of the book, for having changed so much. As You Wish doesn't do that, Eldon quite frankly is an asshole. He's selfish, obnoxious and near sighted, he cant see beyond himself for 6 seconds.... but he's also intensely likeable in my opinion. I felt for Eldon he has a sad life in sad small town with a sad family, and honestly as ornery as he is I still rooted for him the entire book. Merrill really helps with this, he makes Eldon more likeable. His friendship is a saving grace and Merrill more times than he's not is the voice of reason in this book, which is crazy because we know who Merrill is.
Overall this was a really great read and I loved the characters, setting and plot. I think Chelsea Sedoti writes really believable characters you want to root for, you want them to win and be happy, and that makes me want to read a book... well crafted characters.
