Quotes I Like
“Words don't hurt you." Which is one of the hugest criminal lies perpetrated by adults against children in this world. Because words hurt more than any physical pain.”
“The sad truth about humanity...is that people believe what they're told. Maybe not the first time, but by the hundredth time, the craziest of ideas just becomes a given.”
“Either things happen for a reason, or they happen for no reason at all. Either one's life is a thread in a glorious tapestry or humanity is just a hopelessly tangled knot.”
“There's ordinary people out there doing extraordinary things.”
“All this time, Lev ever realized what he needed. He did not need to be adored or pitied. He needed to be forgiven. Not by God, who is all forgiving. Not by people like Marcus and Pastor Dan, who would always stand by his side. He needed to be forgiven by an unforgiving world.”
“When you live a life without questions, you're unprepared for the questions when they come.”

Review
Well much like the first book in this series, UnWholly delivers a thrilling, chilling, mind bending and gutting read. It's so important to have books like this, books that relate to the world we live in now or what our world could turn into. Neal Shusterman is a master story teller able to create a fictitious world that doesn't really feel fictitious at all. His characters are complex, compelling and realistic, they make you think and feel and hope for them. You hate some and love others and come to understand no-one is all good or all bad. If anything I think this series is an exceptional teaching tool that young people and adults alike should read, it holds important lessons and ideas. It teaches political activism and to watch out for becoming a complacent citizen, we must be aware of what's going on in our world and our countries. UnWholly drives home how fast things can go from being well intentioned to a hellish nightmare. I think this series is also so important in how it showcases young people as activists, as the people responsible for changing the world. It's easy to forget the important role kids and teenagers play in our world but they are here and they are important. I thought the characters went through a really great growth in this novel, as I was so excited to see where they were going. I also really enjoyed the pacing of this book and I flew through it. Over all another amazing book by Mr. Shusterman, and I can't wait to read the next book in this series.
